Médar Serrata

Grand Valley State University

Médar Serrata was born in the Dominican Republic. He is an Associate Professor at Grand Valley State University, where he teaches courses of Latin American literature and culture. His research focuses on the intellectual history of the Spanish Caribbean. He has edited a collection of essays on the influence of popular music on Dominican narrative titled El sonido de la música en la narrativa dominicana and is currently studying the creation of the Dominican repositories of cultural memory. He is also the author of two books of poems.
